Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst will be an experienced analyst, able to communicate with all levels of leadership including delivery teams, scrum masters, and senior leadership and be competent with continual improvement and organizational change approaches.

The role provides interaction and support to other team members, delivery teams, core product teams, and leadership teams. Key relationships include: Scrum Masters, Dev/QA management, Product Owners, Product Management, UX team, Security, Enterprise Architects, Client Operations, Audit & Compliance, Professional Services, and Senior Leadership.

Skills, Technical Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the overall data mapping of existing systems and will help build out both the Business and Functional requirements for the technical integration of integrated technical solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies including writing new and improved procedures and processes
  • Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their business process requirements, analyze, document user’s needs, and perform Analysis.
  • Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and provide training to users.
  • Responsible for preparing technical reports by collecting, reviewing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses
  • Review information processing or computation needs and plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering
  • Experience in all phases of software development using agile methodologies
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies e.g. daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demos/retrospectives for each iteration
  • Perform requirements analysis
  • Gather, analyze and translate business needs into actionable, clearly defined user stories
  • Leverages Jira to track requirements, prioritize features, curate content, sequence deliverables into sprints, and report progress
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports including sharing ideas and findings
  • Work closely with business functional owners, subject matter experts, IT technical teams, and managerial staff
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements, form project team and establish project budget
  • Define and perform user acceptance testing as needed
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions
  • Refine backlog to ensure user stories have detailed and accurate acceptance criteria and are ready for development to start
  • Responsible for Monitor, Measure, & Report Progress of the team including burn down charts, team velocity
  • On-going generation, creation, and maintenance of accurate data mapping
  • Document the functional and technical design of the processes or enhancement as it relates to business process requirements, and relationships among various enterprise systems.
  • Document the types and structure of the business processes and procedures
  • Follow all control and compliance regulations

To be successful in this role you will need demonstrated experience in the following:

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
  • Proven experience collaborating amongst a variety of IT Teams (IT Support, IT Integration, HRIS, Shared Services, Operations Teams, Retail Store Technology Teams, etc…) on major initiatives
  • Demonstrable Business Acumen and ability to articulate findings to Senior Management
